The Read-Out is operated by Bureau Allenbach SRL (“we”, “us”, “our”). This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What data we collect

  • Email address — when you subscribe (free or paid)
  • Payment information — processed by Stripe on our behalf; we do not store card details
  • Topic preferences and custom keywords — if you are a Starter subscriber and choose to set them
  • Basic usage data — Ghost’s built-in analytics (page views, email open rates); no tracking pixels or third-party analytics

Why we collect it

  • To deliver the service — your email address is required to send you transcripts and alerts. Legal basis: contract performance.
  • To personalise alerts — your topic preferences are used solely to filter and personalise the briefing alerts you receive. Legal basis: contract performance.
  • To process payments — handled by Stripe under their own privacy policy. Legal basis: contract performance.

Who we share your data with

How long we keep your data

We retain your data for as long as you have an active subscription. If you cancel your subscription or request deletion, we will remove your data from our systems within 30 days.

  • Delete your data (“right to be forgotten”) — Starter subscribers can do this directly from the My Preferences page; all subscribers can request deletion by emailing us

  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Belgium, the Data Protection Authority (APD)

Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for Ghost to function (session management, member authentication). No advertising or tracking cookies are used.
